Ms. Kappmeyer joined the firm in January 2025 after closing her own law practice, where she primarily handled estate planning and administration matters. Ms. Kappmeyer first moved to Alexandria in 2008 to serve as a law clerk for the Honorable Ann L. Carrott, Seventh District Court Judge. Following her clerkship, Kappmeyer worked as a Deputy State’s Attorney in her home state of South Dakota for over eight years, where she tried cases, conducted Grand Jury proceedings, trained and educated law enforcement officers, and handled civil, criminal, and juvenile matters. She returned to the Alexandria Lakes Area in 2017.
